VIRTUAL AIRLINES AND simFDR
Virtual Airlines have long searched for a way for their members to track their flights and submit their flight data to their virtual airline. Because simFDR has been developed by the author of the world's most popular and successful Virtual Airline flight tracking package, it's been designed from the ground up to support Virtual Airlines better than any existing product.
Unlike most free flight logging packages, simFDR provides a continual data stream rather than a series of log messages. It tracks over 60 different aircraft parameters, including specific data from payware aircraft (including Level-D and PMDG) that no other flight logger currently records. It combines this high-fidelity flight data with navigation information to provide your virtual airline with unique insights into your pilots' flying, including flight routes and runway choices and touchdown distance. No more relying on vertical speed!
simFDR makes integration with your virtual airline simple. Your virtual airline needs to expose four RESTful XML or JSON web services that provide a list of valid airport and aircraft, a list of valid user IDs and cryptographically hashed e-mail addresses and a RESTful web service to accept flight submission. We handle it from there - simFDR subscribers can automatically link their simFDR account with your virtual airline and immediately start logging flight reports.
In addition to logging more flight parameters than any other flight recording product, simFDR gives Virtual Airlines an unprecedented level of confidence in the accuracy and validity of their data. In addition to simFDR's industry-leading cryptographic validation of all submitted flight data, simFDR provides an "all-in-one" configuration file for Virtual Airline integration, meaning that simFDR users who belong to a Virtual Airline need not bother with tweaking INI files or registry entries with credentials or URLs.
